The Ballot Is the Real Protest

The power of the masses…

is not in riots.
Not in hashtags.
Not in noise.

It is in the ballot box. That Simple.

Let mtoto wa Maumau do his protests alone.

Me? I’m tired of the hypocrisy.

But again…
dunia ni mzunguko.

Let Zakayo taste his own medicine.


Me, I never voted for that man. Zakayo? Nope!

That, I didn’t.

Why?

Because the lies were obvious.

We lived it.

I wasn’t a rat.

But here I am…

feeling the pain of the hard times ahead.

Hard times have turned Kenyans into comedians you know?

We have laughed our way through pain.

because every Kenyan is now a stand-up comedian.

But behind the jokes?

Depression.

Real.

Heavy.

Silent.

And Kenyans… wueh… the depression has turned us ruthless,

we are ruthless.

Even Trump wasn’t spared.

I still fear…
what if that man remembers us one day
and decides to treat us the Iran way?

Anyway… wacha nishuke chopper nirudi ground.

Call me a blogger if you want.

But this?

This is the most liberating thing I’ve ever done.

Speaking my mind.

Because maybe… just maybe…

honest thought is what Taita Taveta needs.

And here is the good thing about us.

We are unforgiving.

But listen…

we don’t judge men by failure.

failure is where real leaders are built.

But when he speaks…

it makes sense.

Calm.
Measured.
Intentional.

And that matters.

I have made my decision.

And to those who think leadership is about handouts…

Let me say this.

You cannot take a generation already struggling with alcohol…

and use alcohol to buy their future.

Jamo and the Damsels: A County That Keeps Marrying Promises

 So I have this friend — let’s call him Jamo. Yes, Jamo, not Jemo. Ghetto names, Msee wa Kayole -Eastlands edition. The kind of guy who didn’t chase women; women chased him.  I was reading a post on X the other day. Or rather—I started reading it. I can’t even remember the exact wording now, but let’s not dwell on my memory. I hear 50 years is a proper kick in the nuts—even upstairs. You lose some things. Hair included. My mind isn’t as sharp as it used to be. Jeez… I’ve even forgotten where I was going with this. Ah yes. The daughter. So this daughter comes home from school, excited—bubbling over about something that happened during the day. One of those moments parents pretend to be listening to while mentally checking tomorrow’s bills. Then the mum asks, casually, without malice: “Alikuwa wa kabila gani?” And the daughter answers, confused: “Aii Mum, si ni Mkenya?” That innocence. That clarity. That generation of my dreams.
